Lo scavo del pozzo e l’installazione della pompa solare verranno fatti presso la Missione di Bungi.
Qui la popolazione è di circa 5.000 abitanti e la necessità più incombente è l’acqua. Non ci sono fiumi nella zona e le persone attingono da pozzi costruiti ancora durante la colonizzazione araba, diversi secoli fa. Molti di questi infatti sono collassati e molti ovviamente hanno bisogno di essere ristrutturati. Inoltre la popolazione è aumentata. Donne e bambini, come scrive anche il vescovo nella sua lettera, sono costretti a percorrere lunghe distanze per andare a prenderla, per l’uso domestico, per le necessità della chiesa e anche per l’asilo. Talvolta durante i periodi di siccità sono costretti ad acquistarla anche a costi molto alti. Lo scavo del pozzo sembra esser quindi l’unica soluzione utile e definitiva.
I beneficiari diretti saranno i 200 bambini dell’asilo e i 2.000 cristiani che frequentano la parrocchia, oltre alla popolazione limitrofa.

Greetings from Zanzibar.We apologize that to you that we have problems in implementing the above project of Drilling the Borehole at Bungi. The whole republic of Tanzania have been experiencing plenty of rains and floods including island of Zanzibar since the end of October. The company who are responsible for drilling the water advised us that drilling work would not be possible until the rains stops. This is because the water table has raised and this would not give good results. The company proposed that the drilling work be done early next year 2018 when the grounds will be dry and fit for the drilling process. We promise that the work will commence as soon the weather will be favorable for the drilling process.Thanks and be blessed.Sr. Magdalene Mueni
Sr. Magdalene ci avvisa che le piogge impediscono lo scavo del pozzo e il tutto verrà rimandato al 2018 quando il terreno sarà secco
Progetto iniziato nel dicembre 2017:
dal 12 al 20 dicembre è stato individuato il luogo per lo scavo
dal 27 dicembre al 19 gennaio 2018 la ditta ha predisposto tutto per lo scavo
dal 19 al 27 febbraio 2018 è iniziato lo scavo e l’acqua è stata trovata a 84m.
Talvolta i nostri beneficiari preferiscono aspettare che sia completamente finito il progetto per mandare tutto il resoconto… ecco il perchè di questo ritardo…
Ma l’importante è che le opere siano state realizzate. E qui non abbiamo dubbi!!
